Post Results Services
If you are unhappy with your result, there are formal processes available — we handle these on your behalf.
Your post-results options
JCQ regulations give candidates several routes to challenge or review their results after publication. All requests must be made through us as your registered centre.
1. Clerical Re-check
A check that all marks have been correctly transferred and totalled. This does not involve remarking — it is purely a clerical check. Low cost, quick turnaround.
2. Enquiry About Results (EAR)
A request for a review of the marking by the awarding body. Available at Priority or Standard service levels. Priority is for candidates with time-sensitive decisions (e.g. university places). A fee applies — refunded if the grade changes in your favour.
3. Access to Scripts (AS)
You can request a copy of your marked script to review the examiner's marking. Useful before deciding whether to pursue an EAR.
4. Appeal
If an EAR does not resolve your concern, you can appeal to the awarding body. We submit the appeal on your behalf with the appropriate documentation.
Strict deadlines apply for all post-results services — typically within a few weeks of results day. Contact us immediately after results day if you want to pursue any of these options.
Unhappy with your result?
